What are your thoughts on the number of indoor cats that would be ideal and why.

Definately 2 or more, unless you have a very unsociable cat!

Alfie and Lola are great company for each other- they play hide and seek, chase each other around, play fight and cuddle up together. They have the odd scrap, but not often.

All in all they have company when we are not home and get the exercise they probably wouldn't as a single indoor cat x

Well we have 5 horny wenches which could increase by 1 maybe 2 at anytime plus any kitts we may have at the time, and suppose were lucky coz despite the odd horny swear off n swipe they generally all get along, and i think as long as you can serve each of there individual needs and its generally a chilled but radged home for them all then its all good, coz as much as we most of us wants to save the feline worlds of lost souls, sometimes ya just cant and have to step way back and cherish who ya do have, sometimes thats the hardest step to take and live with too

5 of my own here plus whatever i am fostering lol

so maybe a biased opinion but definatly MORE!

I will say though it depends on the cat, there is definatly a pecking order in our house. Sheba is queen of the household and the rest are her loyal subjects . Not all cats suit being in multi-cat households so you have to look at your existing pets with a critical eye before you decide to bring another one in.

As long as they all get on and get the attention and space they need, I wouldn't set limits.

I have had before 7 moggies and 4 Maine Coons here....it was a bit of a squeeze but was OK as the moggies were allowed in the garden and had the conservatory to themselves whilst the coonies had the rest of the house.

Feeding time and litter tray duties were hard work but was all good fun!

I think more than one is best but you have to consider your circumstances and amount of room for them. Four or five cats running around a tiny flat doesn't sound ideal.

I have four and thats perfect for me, I think however many you can afford and if you have space then why not. I personally wouldn't go over six but that is only because I wouldn't have room on my bed

Personally i'd say if pets 4 cats is better on them if in average sized house x Every cat has to have their own space in a multicat household and if you get ones that don't get on thats when the problems do start x

4 i would say is a safer high number for multicat but if enough space and time to give them then more can work x

One lady that has 3 of mine has about 8 now, but all of them seem to really get on well and she has outdoor runs etc and cat playroom for them so it seems to work x
